The Municipal Court for the City of Canton is a division of the 2nd Judicial Circuit.
Cases in the Municipal Court involve alleged violations of City of Canton laws and ordinances.
If you have received a citation/summons for a municipal ordinance violation, you have certain rights and responsibilities.
In all cases, a person receiving a citation/summons must respond. Some violations are within the authority of our local violations bureau which means a person could enter a guilty plea and pay the fine and costs online without making a court appearance. If the citation/summons is covered by the violations bureau and you do not pay the fine and costs, you must appear in court. If your citation/summons is not covered by the violations bureau, you must appear in court.
